Meet Abby! Abby is a sweet and affectionate cocker spaniel with large, black silky ears. They aren't just impressive because they're so beautiful, but also because Abby must rely on them (along with her nose) to get around. See, Abby is a special needs dog because she is blind.
A very independent girl, Abby gets around well and loves to go on daily walks - she doesn't let her blindness get in the way of enjoying life to the fullest! But Abby does need to go to a patient and understanding human who is willing to work with Abby as she gets acquainted with her new home.
This pretty girl can be shy with new people, but once she has a chance to sniff a new friend and get to know them, she warms up quickly. Abby loves a good belly rub and just spending time relaxing with her people. Abby gets along best with men - and male dogs - and would do all right in a home with older children. She has a pretty low to medium activity level and while she enjoys walks, she doesn't need very long ones!
Abby was adopted not long ago but had to come back to APA! because she and her adoptive family's dog didn't get along. She can also be protective of her food and bedding. She needs a calm home where she can flourish with loving, dedicated owners.
